Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Rochester, MN, Hollandberry Pannekoeken offers a distinctive blend of family-friendly dining and authentic Dutch-inspired cuisine that promises to delight every palate. Specializing in hearty breakfast and lunch fare, this charming restaurant and café provides a cozy, inviting atmosphere perfect for casual outings and memorable meals with loved ones.

The star attraction here is undoubtedly the pannekoeken, traditional Dutch pancakes that are so beloved that each order is joyfully announced table-side, adding a charming touch to your dining experience. Whether you choose the classic Blueberry or indulge in the savory Mettwurst and sauerkraut combination — featuring locally crafted sausage — the generous portions and vibrant flavors will leave you craving more. The Rotterdam pannekoeken also stand out with their satisfying blend of texture and taste.

Beyond pancakes, Hollandberry excels with its extensive menu of comfort dishes. Their burgers are substantial and diverse, such as the Bacon Smoked Gouda burger, bursting with thick, smoky bacon and creamy cheese, or the Mushroom burger topped with sautéed onions and Swiss American cheese that delivers a rich, earthy bite.

For those seeking lighter fare, the salads impress with fresh, thoughtful ingredients. The Raspberry Chicken Pecan salad blends a grilled raspberry chicken breast with mandarin oranges, green peppers, and crunchy pecans, all dressed in a tangy raspberry vinaigrette that perfectly balances sweet and savory. Meanwhile, the Dutch Cobb layers fresh turkey, thick-smoked bacon, boiled egg, and smoked Gouda, proving that salads here are anything but boring.

Muffin lovers will find themselves in paradise, thanks to Hollandberry’s magnificent selection that reads like a dream menu: from the warm, spiced Pumpkin muffin to the indulgent Caramel Mandarine Orange and the ever-popular Triple Berry. Each muffin boasts a moist, tender crumb with rich flavors that evoke the comforts of home baking.

Service at Hollandberry Pannekoeken has drawn praise for its friendly and welcoming staff, who contribute to a relaxed vibe despite the bustling crowds on busy mornings. Reviewers commonly note the sizeable portions paired with impeccable taste — a combination that keeps locals and visitors alike coming back. The occasional wait only underscores the restaurant’s popularity and reputation as a must-visit spot in Rochester.

From the first sip of coffee served in a carafe by a gracious hostess to the last bite of a Dutch skillet, Hollandberry Pannekoeken offers an authentic and heartwarming culinary journey. Whether you’re discovering Dutch flavors for the first time or looking for a comforting meal that feels like a warm embrace, this restaurant delivers an experience enriched by its homestyle dishes, vibrant flavors, and genuine hospitality.

Found this great bakery and breakfast place while traveling through Rochester, MN. The line was long when I entered the place, but wait wasn’t too long. I can see why it is so popular! The servings were large, tasteful and super friendly staff. The fresh muffins were also a big hit. I included a list of the options in my photos. Will definitely stop here again on my next visit. I had the omelette option with hollandaise sauce- I think it was called the Dutch omelette along with pancakes. The muffins I took home was the Triple Berry and Banana Nut Chip- both excellent. Show up early, so you can be at the front of the line.

We visited in the middle of the afternoon so didn’t get a song with our pannekoeken. We were seated right away. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We ordered the cheese curds, blueberry pannekoeken, mettwurst and sauerkraut, and the Rotterdam. The portions were generous and the food was very good! The mettwurst is locally made and it was wonderful!

Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 7:40 am, just before the anticipated morning rush. Around 8 am, there was a waiting list FYI. We were greeted immediately, seated and served a carafe of coffee by the hostess. No wonder the hostess had to serve our coffee, our waitress had numerous tables as it appeared she was the only one working at the time. I think we her 9th table, however, there appeared that there were several servers waiting until 8 am to start in the wings. I think this is something that ownership should address as it was uncomfortable to watch this waitress do the best she could without complaining. Moving on, besides watching the staff gradually taking part, it was amusing and interesting hearing the servers yell, “Pannekoeken” as they brought these dishes to the tables. Some were more enthusiastic than others, it was interesting nonetheless. We were subjected to this ritual as well and it was a bit uncomfortable, but we embraced it nonetheless. The coffee was spot on, hearty and robust. Never having Pannekoeken, it was a good experience for both of us. The pecan dish was very good, tasty and hit the spot. The bacon was a nice complement to the sweetness of the dough. The mettwurst, a first for us, was a great savory sausage to complement the sweetness of both dishes. Overall, the experience was very good and recommended. The dishes were just short of a five star review, it was close though. If I lived in the area, I think I would be a regular and visit quite often. It’s worth a trip IMO.

My favorite breakfast spot in Rochester. The muffin selection is amazing, the pancakes are delicious, and the Dutch skillet can't be topped. The coffee and real cream is a perfect touch.

I got the pumpkin flavored pannekoeken and it was awesome. The waitress did a little song and dance as she brought over the food. Our service was fast and the food portions are large enough to share. I highly recommend coming here if you're visiting the Mayo Clinic.
